Considerations

When integrating Siemens equipment, keep the following considerations

in mind:

• Make sure all Siemens equipment is set up, started, and running

properly before attempting to integrate with the Metasys or

Companion Network. (The Siemens representative is responsible for

operation of Siemens equipment.)

• Make sure that the Model 9300, 9500, or 9600 Power Meters are

configured for MODBUS communication.

• Make sure all Siemens devices, including the Multi-drop Converter,

are set to the same baud rate (9600), and that each has a unique

communication address. (The Siemens representative is responsible

for setting the power meter/overcurrent device baud rate.)

• RS-232 cable distance between the Metasys Integrator unit and the

RS-232 to RS-485 converter can be a maximum of 50 feet.

• Cable distance between the converter and the last power meter or

overcurrent device can be a maximum of 4000 feet.

• ADF points are internal parameters that cannot be directly mapped to

standard Metasys system objects. If you intend to monitor ADF

points, you must map them to an attribute in a Control System (CS)

object (which can then be mapped to standard Analog Data [AD]

objects).
